MEET THE CLIENT:
Following the loss of her spouse, our client sought the tranquility of the serene Bow River parkway in West Terrace, leaving behind her Calgary home. While some interior updates had been made with a general contractor, her primary ensuite required a skilled touch to blend sophistication with essential living-in-place features. The mandate was to create an elegant and serene primary ensuite with sea-scape colors, feminine touches, and essential living-in-place safety features.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
The existing space featured angled cabinets and a layout that needed significant reconfiguration. Our task was to reimagine the space without enlarging the existing footprint and design a classically feminine ensuite that seamlessly integrated with the home’s updated aesthetics. Key goals included enhancing accessibility for potential future mobility needs, enlarging doorways and creating a barrier-free shower. PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
Principal Ensuite
- Client’s Must-Haves: A spacious curbless shower, living-in-place features, and two separate vanities. The design also prioritized a serene sea-scape aesthetic.
- Enhanced Accessibility: We expanded bathroom openings to improve flow and accommodate potential use of mobility aids. This adjustment also facilitated better sightlines within the ensuite.
- Custom Features: A bespoke glass and tile shower with integrated niches, a custom wall vanity flanked by elegant brass sconces, and an Ocean Jasper Silestone quartz countertop were installed.
- Functional Enhancements: To enhance usability, we installed heated floors, ADA-compliant touchless faucets, and easy-open cabinets with magnetic catches.
- Safety Integration: Thoughtfully placed brass grab bars in the shower and near the toilet added stability without compromising the overall aesthetic.

Custom Millwork: Designed with meticulous attention to detail, the millwork integrated elegant finishes and maximized storage efficiency
- Glamorous Features: The wallpapered ceiling and chandelier added a touch of glamour, creating a focal point that exuded sophistication and luxury.
- Specialized Storage: We installed accessory pullouts crafted to organize and display her jewelry and accessories seamlessly, ensuring functionality without sacrificing aesthetics.

The final design transformed the closet into a chic retreat where organization meets opulence, reflecting the client’s personal style and enhancing her daily routine with effortless elegance.
