Airdrie New Home Furnishing & Decorating

From Pinterest to Perfectly Personalized

MEET THE CLIENT:

Ricardo was referred to me through the friend of a friend. He had moved into a new home and no longer had furnishings that suited the space or his lifestyle. Although he had Pinterest boards full of ideas, he didn’t know how to sift through them to put together a cohesive look that would serve his lifestyle and was unique to him. Even worse, he didn’t know how he would source new furniture when COVID had made it near impossible to see and feel the quality of the products. Room Service Interiors to the rescue…. from concept to procurement to delivery, Room Service Interiors was there every step of the way to ensure the client’s main floor was tailored to him and his lifestyle.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:

The entire main floor needed furniture, art & accessories. What was there, were the remnants of a past home that were heavy, dark and no longer fit his aesthetic. He wanted to create a space where he could entertain, have family celebrations and kick up his feet and watch a movie if need be while he awaited the completion of this basement.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
  • We sourced and procured a carob-stained trestle dining table that would comfortable sit six, expanding to ten with hidden extensions.

  • Rather than go with the standard matching dining chairs, we opted to go with tufted turquoise blue dining chairs, then reupholstered the backs of the host & hostess chairs with a contrasting Robert Allen Design embroidered fabric for a completely custom look.

  • We then added a large painted landscape as an ode to the client’s love of the ocean.

  • In the great room, we sourced a super comfy linen-look sofa in an endurance fabric, layering in more colour and texture with a throw and toss pillows.

  • Again, we pulled in those sea-scape vibes, adding two indigo armchairs with decorative nailheads and matching ottomans (for extra seating in a pinch).

  • To offset the natural tones of the sofa and marble & gold foot rest…I mean coffee-table, we installed a large modern area rug with soft greys, creams and blues.

  • A gorgeous wood and distressed brass console table anchors the tv to the rest of the room and adds valuable storage for remotes etc. while the bar cart in the corner ensures that no guest goes thirsty.

  • We pulled in accessories, being careful not to go over the top for this unfussy fella.

  • Finally, we sourced & procured four subtly curved brushed leather counter stools so the chef never has to worry about his guests who spill while keeping him company.

WHAT I LOVE:

Ricardo’s willingness to embrace colour and a touch of glam was refreshing. Although the final selections are indeed, beautiful, they are also practical and allow him to truly live in the space.
