Our Favourite Home Decor Stores in Calgary

You know that feeling when you walk into a beautifully put-together room and think, where did they even find that? The lamp that looks like it was made for exactly that corner. The linen throw that pulls three colours together without even trying. The small ceramic bowl on the kitchen shelf that somehow makes the whole space feel considered.

That feeling doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from knowing where to look, and just as importantly, knowing what you’re actually looking for before you walk in the door.

We get asked often, by clients in Cochrane, Bearspaw, Springbank, and across NW Calgary, where they should shop for finishing pieces. It’s a good question. There’s no shortage of home decor stores in Calgary, but shopping without a design plan tends to create rooms that feel busy rather than layered, and collected rather than cohesive. So we wanted to share a few of our favourite spots in the city, and talk honestly about how we approach sourcing as professional interior designers.

I’m Michelle Fleischhacker, principal designer at Room Service Interiors, a full-service interior design studio serving Cochrane, Bearspaw, Springbank, and NW Calgary. We work with homeowners on kitchen and bathroom renovations, whole-home renovations, and new residential builds, and part of that work is knowing exactly where to source the pieces that make a space feel complete.

If you’re thinking about a renovation or new build and want a process that handles every detail for you, learn more about how we work here.

Why Visiting Home Decor Stores in Calgary Is Only the Beginning of Great Design

Walking through a well-curated shop is genuinely enjoyable. You find things you didn’t know you needed and get a feel for what draws you in. That kind of exploration has real value, especially early in a project when you’re figuring out your own aesthetic.

But there’s a gap between loving something in a store and knowing whether it belongs in your home. Scale, proportion, undertone, finish, and the way a piece interacts with your existing architecture all matter. A mirror that looks stunning in a showroom can feel small and out of place in a 10-foot ceiling entryway. A warm-toned rug can fight with cool-grey cabinetry in ways that are hard to know without seeing them side by side.

This is where a professional interior designer adds something that shopping alone can’t replicate. We’re not just picking pieces we like. We’re selecting pieces that work together, fit your space, and hold up over time. The stores below are genuinely worth visiting. We just recommend going in with a clear direction first.

Curious about the difference between an interior decorator and an interior designer? We wrote a whole guide on it.

Popular Home Decor Stores in Calgary for Inspiration

These are shops we return to and recommend, each with a point of view that works with the kind of warm, layered interiors we design for clients across Calgary and Cochrane.

1. Labode Shoppe & Interiors

Location: 812 49 Avenue SW, Calgary

Labode is one of those shops that feels like someone’s very well-travelled home. Their mix of new pieces with found objects, artwork, kitchen goods, bed and bath items, pillows, throws, and accessories feels collected over time rather than ordered all at once. There’s a subtle European influence throughout that keeps things warm without being overdone. If you like spaces that feel lived in rather than staged, Labode is worth an afternoon.

2. Uniquities Architectural Antiques & Salvage

Location: Unit C, 5875 9 Street SE, Calgary

Uniquities is for people who want their home to feel like it has stories. They focus on European antiques, vintage architectural pieces, hardware, lighting, and salvage, which makes it a pretty different kind of home decor shop in Calgary. We love it for clients who want soul and texture, not just shiny new things. A piece with real history does something for a room that a reproduction can’t.

3. Faire Living

Location: 1226B 9 Avenue SE, Inglewood

Faire Living carries artisan homewares, handwoven textiles, tableware, and pieces with a clear maker story behind them. Everything feels intentional and unhurried. It has that old-world quality without feeling stuffy, which sits nicely in the kind of spaces we design. If you’re looking for textiles or tableware with some craft behind them, this is a good place to start.

4. Ella Grace Marketplace

Location: 7271 12 Street SE, Calgary

Ella Grace is a proper treasure hunt. Vintage, antiques, art, furniture, lighting, china, and textiles all under one roof. It’s the kind of Calgary home decor shop where you don’t always know what you’ll find, but you usually find something. For clients who want their home to feel collected rather than assembled from a single catalogue, a stop here often turns up exactly the right odd piece that pulls a room together.

5. Inspirati

Location: Ramsay Design Centre, 120, 1900 11 Street SE, Calgary

Inspirati is inside the Ramsay Design Centre and carries table linens, tea towels, bedding, bath pieces, and dining accessories. These are the finishing touches that make a room feel properly thought through. For anyone who loves to entertain, the quality of what’s on the table and on the bed matters. Inspirati gets that.

6. Valerianne of Calgary

Location: #4, 4640 Manhattan Road SE, Calgary

Valerianne focuses on luxury bedding, fine linens, bath accessories, and decorative pillows. If your primary bedroom or bathroom has been renovated and you want the textiles to actually match the quality of the renovation, this is where you go. It’s a good fit for anyone investing in a primary suite who wants it to feel like somewhere they actually want to be.

What You Won't Find in Most Retail Decor Stores (And Where Designers Shop Instead)

Here’s something worth knowing about home decor: as AKBD-certified designers, we shop in a lot of the same places you do. Some of the stores listed above have pieces that end up in our clients’ homes. But we also have access to trade suppliers, showrooms, and manufacturers that don’t sell to the public, which means the range of what we can source for your project goes beyond what most consumers find browsing home decor stores in Calgary.

When we bring all of that together for a whole-home renovation in Cochrane or a custom kitchen in Calgary, you end up with a home that retail shopping alone couldn’t have produced (no matter how good the stores are).

How a Professional Interior Designer Brings It All Together

The stores above are genuinely worth visiting. The difference a designer brings isn’t about where you shop. It’s about having someone who knows how everything fits together before anything gets bought.

At our Calgary interior design studio, our process starts with a two-hour on-site Design Strategy Session where we get to know your space, how you use it, and what matters most to you before any decisions are made. From there, we put together a flat-fee proposal with a clear timeline and budget so you know exactly what you’re working with before you commit.

During the design phase, we pull from our trade sources alongside pieces from shops like the ones above when they’re the right fit. We put together detailed plans and 3D renderings so you can see how everything works together in your actual space before anything is ordered. One revision is included as standard.

For clients who hire us for a renovation or new build, we coordinate trades directly, manage deliveries, and send weekly project update emails so you’re never left wondering where things stand. On Trade Day, our contractors and artisans review the full scope on site before work begins, which is how we keep things from going sideways mid-project.

The result is a home that feels right from top to bottom, built with materials that suit the space, and designed to work for how you live now and how you’ll want to live in ten or twenty years.
